Kim Ugon/Then aged 20 Presidential Citation (Aug. 15, 2020) [Jinwol. Gwangyang/ From Mar 12, 1910 to Dec. 12, 1951] He entered Yeosu Public Fisheries School on April 5, 1928, but got expelled on January 28, 1930, because of his activities for the Anti-Japanese Movement. After expulsion from the school, he worked for Yeosu Social Science Association. Yeosu Youth Vanguard Union, and the secret book club: After Japanese police noticed those organizations and activities, he continued the activities quietly and went home in 1935. Managing gizzard shad fisheries business after returning, he supported Independence Movement by collecting grants for it On Yosun Incident (1948) and Korean War, he saved many people in the crisis of being executed or punished as collaborators to the left-wing by utilizing his status as an honorary chief officer of Jinwol-myeon Gwangyang county Later, he served his hometown as the head of Seonso village and passed away on December 12, 1952.
