만주지역 민족운동사 연구의 동향과 과제 138 군사연구 제129집 (Abstract) Trends and Tasks of Manchurian National Movement History Research - Hwang Min Ho - A recent trend of research on anti-Japanese independence movements in Manchuria was focused on an aspect that it was a subjective resistance movement against the Japanese invasion and suppression, and on a double torture of Koreans in Manchuria by Chinese government's despotic plundering. Research on finance and agriculture is also a key to understanding the practical conditions of the time when independence movements were carried out. Studies on education, religion and the formation of pro-Japanese groups are being important research subjects. Therefore, this paper will deal with the topics that are not usually dealt in current research trends: people and organizations related to national movements in Manchuria, education movements and religion, social status of Koreans in Manchuria and pro-Japanses activities. And this will broaden the horizon of understanding independence movements in Manchuria. The problem of current research trends is that there is almost no research on socialists and their activities. Especially, recent researches are way too concentrated on the nationalist camp. So that there is almost no study on a youth movement and on Korean communists activities. Research on religion and education is also negligent, and most of studies are inclined to particular schools, people, and religions. It is also desirable that researches on safety farms and pro-Japanese organizations are carried out. In contrast, gathering oral data of a life of Koreans in Manchuria and of a memory of the independence movement is in process and should be on-going. A research on pro-Japanese organization is urgent, and therefore a study of pro-Japanese people should be carried out as soon as possible. It will be a ..
