In this paper, Oh attempts to clarify some ambiguous details and explain why Ahn-khe pass battle inflicted most casualties for the Korean army. By studying the battle's background and process, Oh writes that the crucial mark for the Ahn-khe pass battle was the absence of clear objectives, lack of reliable intelligence and undisciplined and unreliable qualities of troops.
