Becausethenormallifeofchildrenisaseriesofplay,thephysical movementintheformofindividualorgroupplayiseffective.Whenthe playofchildrenisdividedintotheindoorplayandoutdoorplay,the outdoorplaybringsmoremuscularactivitythanindoorplay. Fromtheabove,traditionalplayisapreferableactivitybecausechildren arefamiliarwithandinterestedintraditionalplay.Moreovermostof traditionalplaysareoutdoorplays.Sinceparentsandteachersofchildren arefamiliarwithtraditionalplay,knowwellhowtoplaythem,andusually givemanychancestochildrentopalywith,childrenarefamiliarwithand interestedinthetraditionalplays.Keepinginterestingisamajorfactorof children'sactivities. II.ActivityProgramBasedonTraditionalPlay Inthisstudy,weproposedanintegratedexperientialactivityprogram basedontraditionalplayforimprovingyoungchildren'sbasicathleticability. Tochoosethetraditionalplaysamongvariousplays,asurveyonteachers andparentswesconducted.Intheconsiderationoftheresultsofsurvey, teachingstrategy,degreeofdifficulty,availableinstrumentsforactivity, availablespace,etc,the40traditionalplayswerechosenanddistributedin anannualactivityprogram. Allactivitiesarecomposedof3-stepsoftotal40minutes;introductory, main,andfinishingsteps. Toinvestigatetheeffectivenessoftheprogram,itwasappliedtosubjects during6months.Thesubjectsconsistedof115childrenagedfromthreeto fiveyears:203-yearsoldchildren(11boysand9girls),324-yearsold children(13boysand19girls),and635-yearsoldchildren(36boysand 27girls)inakindergarteninSeoul.Bygender,60boysand55girls.
