Pre-serviceteachersmajoringinearlychildhoodspecialeducationhad higherlevelsofcompetenciesinprovidingplaybasedcomprehensive activitiesandprovidingbalancedactivitiesthanpre-serviceteachers majoringinearlychildhoodeducation.Thismayreflectcurriculum differencesbetweendepartmentofearlychildhoodeducationanddepartment ofearlychildhoodspecialeducation. Coursecreditstakenbyparticipantsabouthealtheducationorsatisfaction withthecourseswerenotassociatedwithinstructionalcompetencies.The effectivenessofcoursesforhealtheducationinteacherpreparation programsshouldbere-examined.
